Named after Michelangelo’s famous sculpture (because of its carefully sculpted surface), this mattress does wonders to relieve pressure-point discomfort and increase circulation, allowing for a deeper and more restful sleep. The David appeals to sleepers who prefer a medium to medium-firm mattress.

Made with three layers of Talalay 100% natural rubber, the open-channel construction provides additional air circulation, creating a comfortable, cool, and safe motion-free mattress. The David is naturally resistant to mold, mildew, bacteria, and dust mites.

Although the most popular standard layering configuration is firm on the bottom, medium-firm in the middle, and medium-soft on the top (sculpted) surface, custom layering is available. This mattress can be made with all firm, all medium-firm, or all medium-soft layers, or any combination of the three. The three layers of natural rubber are individually sleeved in a certified organic ring-spun stretch knit. The outer cover — the same signature quilted cover we use in all our mattresses — is zippered for easy assembly.

Additionally, each half of the David Mattress can be designed to create two different sleeping zones. This unique system can be manufactured with the bottom and middle layers split lengthwise, so that each side of the mattress can be customized to a sleeper’s firmness preference.

The David can be placed on our upholstered wood slat foundation or directly onto a platform-slat frame (with slats ideally 2.5" - 3" apart). A box-spring foundation will provide a more flexible support. To protect the mattress material from dust and from rubbing against the wood slats, a Wool Underbed Pad is recommended. Ship this mattress fully assembled or, to save on freight expenses, via UPS in four smaller boxes with assembly instructions. The final assembled mattress depth is approximately 10".
