By sequestering carbon, it reduces the atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide, which is the main contributor to the reduction of global warming.

Rapid Growth – With rapid growth, a bamboo plant can grow nearly 3 feet in a day. When mature, the bamboo can be up to 30 cm in diameter. That’s nearly a foot.
