A List of Hypoallergenic Dog Breeds

Hypoallergenic Dog Blog title

Here in Seattle at Bedrooms & More, a fair-sized contingent of our customer base are allergy sufferers.

It’s no surprise, really: the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology reports that “worldwide, sensitization to foreign proteins in the environment is present in up to 40% of the population.” That’s a lot of red, runny eyes, sniffly noses, and scratchy skin!

Because we specialize in hypoallergenic bedding — made from fibers known to cause fewer allergic reactions than other fibers  — we can confidently match our allergy-prone customers with mattresses, pillows, and top of bed products that will give them a more restful and irritant-free sleep.

An allergy-free sleep experience starts with your mattress

Whether you let your dog sleep on the bed with you or not is a personal matter. No matter what, make sure your mattress supports the healthiest hypoallergenic sleep possible.

We also know that many people don’t like to sleep alone — or live alone. A furry friend can make life so much sweeter. Whether or not you decide to share your sleep surface with your canine companion, as an allergy sufferer you want to make sure your dog is dander-compatible with you and your family.

Looking for a Hypoallergenic Companion?

Petfinder makes adoption easy by allowing you to search by breed, gender, age, and location. We strongly encourage finding an animal through local shelters!

shelters have all sorts of non allergic dogs. there are over 50,000 homeless prts on petfinder, a site dedicated to shelter animals. why not give one a home rather than supporting puppy mills.

Hi, Denise. While it’s true that scientifically, there is no such thing as a ‘hypoallergenic’ dog breed, this is the common, shorthand way people use to describe dogs whose dander and skin is much less likely to cause allergic reactions in people. (And this is the term people use online when searching for such a dog.) This is why allergy sufferers often choose these dogs.

This website is great! I’m doing an excel project on dog breeds and one column is weather the dog is a hypoallergenic dog or not. It’s really helpful!

As for dogs, do you know any reliable resource where one can find all the local dog kennels?

We only sell two sided mattresses. Here's Why:

A 2-sided mattress you can flip and rotate is better for your body and your wallet! Flippable mattresses last up to 3 times as long as ‘can’t flip’ ones. It’s simply untrue that 2-sided mattresses are no longer being made. Here at Bedrooms & More Seattle, they’re all we sell — because it’s what is best for our customers and the environment.

New “Dual System Headboards”

We are in the process of changing many of our headboards to be both “K Series” and “P Series” capable. The headboards will have both sets of holes for using either way. The new headboards will be marked “Dual System Headboard” on the boxes. This process will take time for all sizes and finishes to be available and will be gradual, as the new versions come in and the old version get depleted. We are telling you now so that you can be aware of what the “Dual System Headboard” terminology means when you see it on the box or in our catalog. The list of headboards that will be switched to the new “Dual System” are listed below. Of course, you will need to order the correct rails and footboards depending on whether the customer wants “K” or “P” Series. The new “K Series” height allows for the use of the bigger bunk bed drawers and/or trundle and “K Series” footboards already have the privacy panel built in. We are also making the Folding Footboard Bench Footboard “Dual System”. If you need one of the new items to be “Dual System” (for “K Series”), you will need to specifically request it until all old versions are gone, to make sure you get the new version.
