Frequently Asked Questions

About Mattresses

Why buy a 2-sided mattress?

With a two-sided mattress you can flip and rotate it so it wears evenly over time. Regular rotation and flipping ensures a life span up to 3 times longer than a one-sided, ‘can’t flip’ mattress.  Manufacturers of single-sided mattresses know consumers will be back to buy another mattress in just 2-3 years, that’s why they do it, to make more money. As a consumer you should be able to expect your new mattress to be comfortable and last for at least 8 to 12 years when properly taken care of. With a 2 sided, flippable mattress, you can count on it to last AND be comfortable. This why Bedrooms & More chooses to only sell quality 2-sided mattresses, because it’s what’s best for consumers – and the planet!

How long should a mattress last?

A single sided mattress also known as a ‘can’t flip’ mattress, will only stay comfortable for 2-5 years, even when cared for properly. A two-sided mattress on the other hand, you can count on lasting for at least 8 to 12 years if cared for properly. A botanical latex mattress, may last even longer. This is why Bedrooms & More chooses to only sell 2-sided mattresses, because it’s what’s best for our consumers. And if we’re being honest, it’s what’s best for the planet too, because we’re helping reduce the amount of failed mattresses ending up in the landfill!

What products do you sell besides mattresses?

In addition to over 50 mattresses on display in our showroom, Bedrooms & More offers an extensive variety of natural and organic bedding essentials, bedroom furniture, living & dining room collections, and seating solutions from recliners, sectional sofas and sofa sleepers. We also have home accents, such as lighting to area rugs on to complete the look of your space.

Do you carry major mattress brands like; Sealy, Serta, Simmons or Tempurpedic?

No, we don’t. We consciously chose to break away from the mainstream mattress industry and carrying the ‘big S brands’ around the year 2000, in response to new manufacturing practices that don’t benefit consumers.

At one time we carried some of these brands, but since they no longer sell 2-sided mattresses to consumers (only to the hotel industry), we’ve moved on and so has our business.

Can I return my mattress?

Please refer to our 90 day comfort exchange policy here

Do you manufacture your own mattresses?

Yes, we do.  We have several long standing relationships with regional mattress manufacturers who build mattresses to our specifications. In addition to mattresses we design for our sister brand, 45th Street Bedding, we also carry models from reputable mattress manufacturers who use only the best sourced materials paired with top quality construction.

Do you carry kids or baby mattresses?

Yes, we carry kids’ mattresses, and we have crib size mattresses for babies.

Why don’t you carry memory foam or gel foam mattresses?

Although these chemical-based materials are popular, they do not actually support a good night’s sleep. Memory foam sleeps hot and takes body impressions quickly and deeply, so that your bed becomes a sinkhole. Same thing with gel foam. Gel foam, which is marketed as having ‘cooling properties,’ actually heats up worse than regular chemical foams once the cooling effect subsides for the night. Both memory foam and gel foam also off-gas, which can be unpleasant for people with chemical sensitivities.
